Installing and Updating Email Certificates Made Easy

Thanks to the KeyTalk app, installing and maintaining S/MIME certificates is a breeze: users simply install the KeyTalk app (Windows, OSX, iOS, Android, Linux) on their device and log in with their credentials to the KeyTalk system. This system then automatically sends the request for the certificate to the issuing CA. The certificate for this user is issued to the KeyTalk CKMS, after which KeyTalk adds the private key through the app for the user, and the public S/MIME details of the user are added to the protected public address book of the AD and/or LDAP/Key server.

Through the KeyTalk apps, the user can easily install the certificate on all desired (and permitted) devices, with the email client being automatically configured. Once the installation process is complete, email encryption and digital signatures are standard, without any further action required.

Cloud or On-Premise

KeyTalk offers two options for key storage: in the high-security cloud of KeyTalk or as an on-premise variant on a customer’s server. In the latter case, the customer installs the KeyTalk Certificate and Key Management System (CKMS) on their server, which will then manage the storage and distribution of the keys. There is a distinction between the CKMS for external CAs and that for self-generated, and thus free, certificates.

The fee for storing key pairs on a high-security server at KeyTalk is included in the package price from SSLplus for each certificate. Only if the customer wishes to store on their own system, a one-time fee of €695 for the installation of the CKMS must be paid to KeyTalk.
