Swisscom Trust Services
Now sign pan-European qualified documents with Swisscom Trust Services, an accredited trust service provider for qualified and advanced certificates and seals, listed on the eIDAS Trust List.
The benefits of electronic signatures are clear and have become even more apparent during the COVID-19 pandemic: users can act independently of time and location, signing contracts and documents easily and securely at home or on the go. This not only ensures legal security but also creates more efficient processes without media disruption, saving paper, logistics costs, scanning, printing, and shipping expenses.
Compliance with eIDAS is achieved through the Swisscom Trust Service via the Signing Service, a cloud-based signature service. This enables customers to sign electronically and timestamp documents legally from home or remotely through their signature applications, such as DocuSign, SharePoint, and many others. A REST API and a SOAP API ensure the direct transmission of document hash values to the signature application. External identity providers (IDPs), such as video identification solutions or banks, are integrated for the necessary identification of the signer via the OAuth2.0 protocol.
The special security for customers lies in the details, as unlike many other signature solutions, only a hash (compression of document data) is transmitted during signing; Swisscom Trust Services does not see the document content. Additionally, processing and identity verification take place in secure data centers with geographic redundancy in Switzerland. Auditors continuously monitor compliance with all regulations for both Swiss and EU legislation.
SSLplus expands its portfolio with Swisscom Trust Services, adding a heavyweight in the market for qualified electronic and advanced signatures. With 15,000 employees, Swisscom is the largest IT company and the IT security leader in Switzerland. It is also the only European provider of recognized qualified and advanced signatures in both the Swiss legal framework (ZertES law) and the European legal framework (eIDAS regulation). This means that SSLplus customers have access to a full range of signature solutions from a single source, regardless of their existing signature application.
